With nearly 25 years in the corporate financial services world, owner and inspector Josh Kurtz has returned to his lifelong passion for homes, drawing upon a deep-rooted connection to the construction and renovation industries. The son of a retired custom remodeler and carpenter, and with a father-in-law who is an insulation contractor and real estate investor, Josh has been actively involved in home projects since childhood. This extensive hands-on experience, combined with his robust business and economic acumen, provides a uniquely insightful perspective for his clients.

Josh is particularly passionate about guiding first-time homebuyers, leveraging his knowledge to address their concerns and set them on a confident path to homeownership. He also cherishes the opportunity to inspect the diverse and historic homes of the Greater Philadelphia Area, a region he knows intimately. Growing up in one of the oldest homes in Montgomery County and currently owning a home built in the early 1800s, Josh possesses an exceptional understanding of the nuances of older properties.

His diverse background truly sets him apart. A proud Penn State Nittany Lion with degrees in International Politics and Business Administration, Josh spent years at a major international financial services company in roles spanning sales, marketing, operations, and management. This business foundation complements his decades of immersion in home construction and renovation. His own historic home, an “inspector’s dream (or nightmare?),” showcases a wide array of building materials and systems, making him uniquely qualified to identify potential issues, prioritize repairs, and alleviate the anxieties of prospective homeowners.

Outside of inspections, Josh is actively involved in his community, coaching baseball and serving on the board of Harleysville Baseball, participating in the leadership committee for Scouts BSA, volunteering with Bridge of Hope Buxmont, and fundraising for the National MS Society. He is also developing a program to provide free firewood to local families in need during the winter months. In his spare time, he enjoys renovating his old stone farmhouse, working on his small farm, supporting his children’s activities, and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams.
