NPI/GPI Franchisees, Employees Complete Infrared Training
Twenty National Property Inspections and Global Property Inspections franchisees and employees successfully passed the Level 1 Thermographer Certification Test during Infrared imaging training in Omaha, Neb., January 28 though January 31.
An Infrared camera is a powerful and noninvasive means of monitoring and diagnosing the condition of a building – residential or commercial. It identifies problem areas that can’t be seen with the naked eye. An Infrared camera registers changes in temperature, or heat energy, across surfaces in a property. Identified temperature changes can indicate safety concerns, developing leaks or preventable heating and cooling losses.
The training, hosted by FLIR, covered topics, including the fundamentals of IR theory, heat transfer, the environmental considerations necessary for taking good pictures and pitfalls to avoid. Students learned to identify thermal abnormalties that indicate missing insulation or insulation defects, the presence of moisture, indications of air filtration issues and basic electrical red flags. Training also covered the IR camera/setup, image download and report generation using the FLIR reporting software.
Franchisees/employees who received their Infrared imaging certification include: Rob Abbink of Surrey, BC; Chae ByBee of Sheridan, Wyo; Darryl Chandler of Gorham, Maine; Paul Cox of Newton Square, Pa.; Bill Cushing of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Paul Duffau of Asotin, Wash.; Anthony Froerer (employee of Kerry Lindgren) of Mountain Green, Utah; George Gabbert of Pueblo, Colo.; Steve Hancock of Knoxville, Tenn.; Erik Hansen of Lenexa, Kan.; Ben Hill (employee of Sam Hill) of Watkinsville, Ga.; Edward Lannon of Miramar, Fla.; Larry Morrow (employee of Terry Haynie) of Indian Springs, Ohio; Andy Nightingale (employee of Darryl Chandler) of Saco, Maine; Ron Schenck of Grandview, Wash.; Andy Smith of Omaha, Neb.; Steve Thomas of Yorktown, Va.; Fred Tonte of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; and Matt Tracey of Feasterville, Pa.

NPI Welcomes New Franchisees
National Property Inspections, Inc. added two franchisees in Canada. Greg Mathias of Lloydminster, AB, and Ron Pronchuk of Grand Bend, ON, successfully completed National Property Inspections, Inc.’s home inspection training program. Drew Ferwerda of St. George, Utah, also received his course completion certificates. Ferwerda will assist NPI franchisee David Free with his business.
Before receiving their certificates, NPI/GPI franchisees receive training in technical, marketing and business aspects of property inspection and franchising. Their days are spent mastering an understanding of all major property systems, including: plumbing, structural, electrical, HVAC, roofing, foundations, and exterior and interior wall coverings. Safety issues, moisture intrusion, and common problems are also covered. The training prepares them to handle commercial inspections, residential inspections, relocations, field service work and more.
Franchisees are also trained in computers and the equipment they will use on a daily basis, including the proprietary inspection software. NPI’s Inform inspection software was first developed over 10 years ago and is updated frequently to meet the need of clients and inspectors. Most franchisees elect to complete additional training with an assigned NPI/GPI mentor, a franchisee already established in the field.
National Property Inspections, Inc. provides ongoing support and training for all of its franchisees.
“Whether our franchisees need a new marketing tool or technical support, we’re just a phone call away,” Executive Vice President, Bill Erickson, said. Founded in 1987, National Property Inspections Inc. is among the oldest and most well-respected property inspection companies in the business.
